Hospitals
Safe and easy isolation and transportation of highly infectious and vulnerable patients.
Key Advantages
Superior Patient Care & Comfort
The EpiShuttle allows monitoring and advanced treatment to be performed during transport, including emergency procedures like intubation, IV and oxygen line insertion.
Safety of Health Care Professionals
The EpiShuttle provides a completely sealed transparent barrier between the patient and the health care professional, preventing cross-contamination.
Cost Efficient & Reusable
Transport vehicles don’t need to be disinfected after use, saving time and money. The EpiShuttle can be reused because of our validated disinfection procedures.
Safe Medical Transportation
The EpiShuttle is designed for safe isolation and transportation of infectious patients. In addition to highly infectious diseases like Ebola, SARS, and MERS, the EpiShuttle is used for transport of immunocompromised and vulnerable patients both intra and inter hospital.
Intrahospital Transport
Transporting patients through hospital requires careful preparation and equipment. With EpiShuttle, the whole process becomes easier. The wards and corridors can stay in operation and don’t have to be disinfected. The medical staff are not required to wear full PPE during transport which saves time usually spent on donning and doffing.
Interhospital Transport
As seen in the pandemic, hospital wards can quickly become overcrowded. When a patient needs to be relocated to a different hospital, the EpiShuttle allows safe and easy transport.
The unit is compatible with multiple stretchers and various transport vehicles ranging from ambulances to airplanes and helicopters. The transport vehicles don’t need to be disinfected after transport which saves time for the medical staff to preform their daily work.
When to use the EpiShuttle?
In case there is a patient with highly infectious disease like Ebola, SARS, MERS, etc., the EpiShuttle prevents the infection from spreading.
If an immunocompromised or vulnerable patient (cancer patient, burn victim, etc.) needs to be transported, the EpiShuttle will give the patient protection from airborne pathogens in the environment. This could be particularly important for patients being transported after bone marrow or other transplants.
Positive Pressure Mode
With the positive pressure kit installed, the air ventilation system generates a positive pressure inside the EpiShuttle, relative to the environment. The positive pressure and the inlet filters prevent non-filtered environmental air from entering the unit.
Negative Pressure Mode
In negative pressure mode, the air ventilation system generates a negative pressure inside the EpiShuttle, relative to the environment. The negative pressure and the outlet filters prevent contaminated air from escaping the unit.
