EpiShuttle used to transport Alexei Navalny to Berlin
Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalny was transported in an EpiShuttle to Berlin’s Charité hospital complex.
After suspected poisoning, Mr. Navalny was flown out of the Siberian hospital on Saturday morning to receive appropriate treatment in the German capital. He was reported to be in the state of induced coma but in a „stable condition“.
Upon arrival to Berlin, a convoy of police cars was waiting alongside ground ambulance equipped with an EpiShuttle. The transport police in Omsk detected a suspicious chemical substance, reported by The Guardian, that could be a threat to his life and the lives around him.
Considering the given situation, medical staff decided to use the EpiShuttle to transport Alexei to protect medical and transportation staff.
“The exact substance is not yet known. Widespread analysis has begun. The effect of the poison – i.e. the inhibition of cholinesterase in the organism – has been proven several times and in independent laboratories.”
